It's hoped the weak-hitting Dodgers can get a boost from the 34-year-old, .289 hitter acquired in exchange for minor leaguers Jon Meloan and Carlos Santana. He'll be at Dodger Stadium tonight.

Five days away from the non-waiver trade deadline, the Dodgers acquired third baseman Casey Blake from the Cleveland Indians for a pair of minor leaguers.

A great deal. The catcher the Dodgers gave up, I believe, was the good player and they already have that handled. If they get Furcal back and Andruw Jones could hit .220 they would be sweet. They're already potentially sweet without either of them! They could use Brad Penny. It was good to hear Forkush on Dodger post game the other night.

Now that we are on the subject of Dodger baseball, how did you like our new Dodger Casey Blake getting thrown out last night? It was a bunch of horse fertilizer as Vin Scully told us. You can’t even say bull crap. . . I mean horse fertilizer in your own dugout. And if they were concern about Blake angering the crowd, I think the umps did a good job on their own.
